Going to live in another country is exciting, but the tasks of completing paperwork and making arrangements that are required can soon become overwhelming and burdensome. Various governmental organizations in Estonia are consistently striving to simplify the process of settlement for foreigners.
While an informative website had already existed, our designer Hedi came onboard to improve the user interface design and the project resulted in a more interactive and advanced version that streamlines many tasks.
Although Hedi only worked on the site during the design process, the project team accomplished a great deal. The new information system has made it easier for foreigners to manage their courses and register for them without the need to send an email. The web also makes it more convenient for trainers by automatically keeping track of the number of participants and preventing overcrowding.
It calculates completion requirements and eligibility for assistance based on data from various registers, saving officers of the Police and Border Guard Board time and effort. The system had been long-awaited and the participation in the settlement program is very active.
The UI design is based on the Brand Estonia style guide.
